It is a leading independent business to business supplier of tea, coffee, and botanical solutions to beverage brand owners worldwide. The group has established itself as a reliable, responsible, innovative, and sustainable supplier with a deep knowledge and passion for its products. We invite applications for the position of Logistics Manager at our Mombasa, Kenya operations. Job summaryReporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will oversee the clearance of goods through customs and port processes. Key responsibilities include preparing documentation and electronic submissions, calculating and settling duties and taxes with Customs, port authorities, and shipping lines, and coordinating communication between clients and relevant government agencies.The role also requires maintaining high standards of operational efficiency and customer satisfaction while ensuring full compliance with Customs regulations and other applicable government requirements.Minimum requirements A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field / Transport & Logistics, or a relevant field. Possession of ICMS training certification and the East Africa Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate (EAFFPC) issued by KESRA.At least seven (7) years of experience in the relevant field. Proven track record in managing teams and external stakeholdersIn-depth knowledge of customs laws (EACCMA) and international shipping procedures.Proficiency in ICMS, KENTRADE, KEPHIS IECS, and Tea Board IMIS systems.Strong understanding of logistics operations, including clearing and forwarding, customer grievance resolution, and customs bond management.Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrate strong teamwork and proactive engagement, and exhibit a hands-on approach to operational tasks. </p><p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p><p>Develop and implement logistics policies, procedures, and standards aligned with JF-M Objectives. Develop and execute the overall logistics strategy in line with business objectives.Ensure full compliance with local and international regulations (customs, trade laws, safety, and environmental policies).Oversee all import and export documentation to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Coordinate and manage the import/export process through Customs and port authorities, ensuring timely clearance and minimal delays. Analyse operational data to track performance and identify opportunities for improving delivery efficiency. Facilitate the payment of freight and related charges or arrange for the collection of payments on behalf of clients. Respond promptly to customer inquiries and effectively handle and resolve complaints.Liaise with Customs, KPA, and other government agencies, acting as a key point of contact to ensure adherence to prescribed shipping procedures.Guide relevant legislation, regulatory updates, political developments, and other factors that may impact cargo movement.Manage Customs bonds and related transactions in line with regulatory requirements.Ensure timely renewal of business licenses with Customs and other regulatory authorities.
